Kia ora! I’m Charlotte Hathaway – I set up Sage Practices in 2002.
Sage Practices is a wellbeing consultancy service that has ebbed and flowed over the years, initially I started out in private practice working as a Classical Homeopath and One to One Yoga Therapist. I then moved into Occupational Health and Wellbeing and have worked in a wide range of corporate, high risk, government and not for profit organisations.
Now days – I combine my creative photography with yoga philosophy and create wellbeing soundbites on social media, aiming to inspire you to take charge of your own health.
I am always keen for a chat – so if you resonate with the posts I put out there and would like to learn more – please get in touch!
I have an eclectic and diverse range of health and wellbeing experience. Academically, I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology & Gender Studies with a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health. I am also a qualified enrolled nurse, homeopath, yoga teacher and therapist. You can read more about me on LinkedIn
The more I learn about photography, the more I realise that it is a yoga practice.
It is my aim to help you understand how yoga is so much more than the exercise component that the western world perceives it to be. Sage Practices combines all aspects of health and healing to tailor wellbeing practices that meet you and where you are in the world right now. These practices will help you address the obstacles – or issues you are facing.
Check out the Sage Self-Care Project – its there to help you increase your own awareness about your behaviours – and what you take notice of.
It’s my aim to help you find ways to create positive change in your life. After all – its up to you. You are the only one who can do it – and I am really happy to help you along the way!

“Charlotte Hathaway is the best health and wellbeing expert I have dealt with in my entire 25 year leadership career. She has an eminently strong background in the management of physical health and is truly exceptional in the field of mental health and wellbeing.
Her understanding of the health system framework and professionalism in dealing with external providers meant our staff enjoyed quality health and injury care. However, it is in the area of mental health and wellbeing that she has lifted us to another dimension.
Our organsiation has faced enormous stress and rapid change over the last 5 years and the impact on staff has been overwhelming for many.
To deal with this we sought advice and direction from Charlotte. Since then she has developed and facilitated the introduction of a meaningful customised and leading edge Wellbeing framework from which we are seeing real benefits from in less than a year. Viva la Charlotte!”
“Charlotte is excellent at explaining the importance of wellbeing and how to prioritise it in your daily work life. She has a very relaxed and engaging style of presentation.”
“Charlotte provided me with great advice on managing my own wellbeing, endorsed by my medical practitioner who suggested I continue working with her. Charlotte is a breath of fresh air, fun to work with and has had a positive influence on wellbeing culture, which I have personally benefited from.”
Sage has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries. It has a range of therapeutic properties. Sapius, from Latin sapere means “to taste, to discern, to be wise”.
